Thanks to those members who assisted with the Holiday Party held last month at Money Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant in Camarillo. As usual, the food was very good, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly. About a dozen people ignored the unexpected drizzle and came together at this annual year-end event. The evening opened with a short memorial for one of our fine members who passed away earlier this year, Bruce Bell. Bruce was a steady presence at our meetings and a pleasant volunteer at almost all of our events. He wrote and had published numerous Letters to the Editor in various papers, representing us well.
The program continued with our speaker Lynn Jensen, Executive Director of the Coalition of Labor, Agriculture and Business (www.colabvc.org). She reminded us how county decisions on farming and ranching matters really affect every one of us, and encouraged us to join her organization to support efforts toward sensible regulations for land-based businesses. As the evening ended a raffle was held for some holiday treat prizes.
Keep this event in mind for end of year 2015. We hope to see many more of you there.
