We are sorry to report that Aaron Starr, LPVC member, lost his lead in the race for Oxnard City Council. It was not clear until November 29th when all provisional ballots had been counted that he had been bypassed by the (former) fourth runner up. This came as a surprise as it had previously appeared that he was neck and neck with the number three candidate. Even the media thought he had won; a political cartoon about Aaron’s win was published in the Ventura County Reporter.
We thank Aaron for running for local office, a venture that takes much time, money and effort. He came within 1% of winning and was shy by only 600 votes. Aaron continues his work on “Moving Oxnard Forward” and the Measure M controversy over sewer rates. If you are an Oxnard resident and grateful for Aaron’s activism, please contact him at email@example.com and offer your support.
