One of the main goals for the LPVC this year is to increase the number of registered Libertarians in our county. Outreach booths, such as the one held at the 4th of July Street Fair in downtown Ventura, serve as one of the vehicles we can use to meet this goal. Volunteers managing the booth last week brought in several new registrations and contacts. But an outreach effort goes beyond that. Just having a presence in a public place, being able to post our name brand where hundreds of festival goers can view it, is a big help in spreading the Libertarian word. Over the years we have seen changes in interest and attitude regarding our political party. It is good to hear that more and more people will stop just to say they are dissatisfied with both parties and find that they really hold libertarian views.
Another outreach booth is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13 at the upcoming Camarillo Fiesta Street Fair in old town Camarillo. This is your chance to to help build the party in our county. Last year we had an increase in Ventura County Libertarian registrations; we need to match that and more. Come bring your sales skills and/or your powers of persuasion to the event this weekend. If you have never volunteered in this way, don’t worry. We can assist you with information and ways to sell liberty. Now is the time to donate YOUR time to the party. There are several short shifts still needing to be filled. Contact Secretary Susan Aquino at 805-652-0290 or email@example.com and let her know when and for how long you can work in the booth. You need not be an LPVC member to help with this event.
