You may provide information that can be used to identify you (your “Personal Information”) when you respond to certain inquiries or choose to use certain sections of our Web site. “Personal Information” may include personal identification Information, public filing information, financial Information and other personal Information as defined below:
Personal Identification Information includes your name, address, zip code, precinct, demographic information, telephone number, e-mail address, e-mail confirmation data, employer, occupation, spouse identity, political party information, and any other information required by law to be collected in connection with political contributions;
Public Filing Information includes voter registration records and any information that is included in a filing or submission that is a matter of public record and publicly available under any law providing right of public access;
Financial Information includes credit card number and/or credit card security number (“credit card information”), account information, bank or checking account information, and information about the date, amount and nature of financial transactions;
Other Personal Information includes volunteered responses to surveys and polls.
- How We Use Your Personal Information
We, and third parties acting on our behalf, use Personal Information
For communicating party information;
For providing requested information, goods or services;
For processing financial transactions between you and the LPVC and for sending receipts;
For monitoring your usage of the LPVC Web site in order to customize and enhance its design and content;.
For providing you with technical and other support; and
For public filings made to comply with state and federal laws.
We do not share your contact information with other sites; we do not rent, sell, exchange, or transfer email lists with outside organizations. We share your personal information only with our state affiliate, the Libertarian Party of California.
- When We Disclose Your Personal Information
We, or third-parties acting on our behalf, may disclose your Personal Information to unaffiliated third parties without your express consent in the following circumstances:
To release public filing information;
To comply with the law, regulatory or court order, subpoena or other legal process;
If the LPVC determines that doing so would be necessary to protect ours’ or others’ rights, property or safety;
To provide you with certain goods and services offered through our Web site that are provided by such parties as are reasonably required to provide such goods or services;
To process transactions between you and LPVC and/or between you and another person, such as credit card and e-check transactions; and
In the context of working with third-party contractors engaged by us in the maintenance and operation of our Web site or related matters.
After LPVC, or third-parties acting on our behalf, disclose your Personal Information to unaffiliated third parties in such instances, we no longer control the use or further disclosure of your Personal Information. Consequently, LPVC, or third-parties acting on our behalf, will not be responsible to you for such use or further disclosure.
- Parental Control Provisions
Use of LPVC Web site is restricted to those over the age of thirteen (13). The LPVC does not permit children under thirteen (13) to provide personal identifying information to the LPVC. The LPVC Web site does not knowingly solicit, collect, use or disclose any personal information of anyone under the age of thirteen (13).
Pursuant to 47 U.S.C. § 230(d), as amended, we hereby notify you that parental control protections (such as computer hardware, software or filtering services) are commercially available that may assist you in limiting access to material that is harmful to minors. Information identifying current providers of such protections is available at Get Net Wise, Safety.com or by using Google or other search engine to find Web sites with the search phrase “parental control”.
We, and third-parties acting on our behalf, take precautions involving physical, electronic, and managerial controls to protect from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, and alteration of any Personal Information in our possession. We have employed the patent-pending 360 scanning technology of SiteLock to keep our site and server secure.
You should, however, note that the confidentiality of any information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. You share the responsibility for the security of your Personal Information on the LPVC Web site.
