50 percent of the Republican voters in this poll stated they want an outsider candidate, while 40 percent stated they want someone with political experience. Lucky them. Lucky us. The Libertarian Party has someone who can satisfy both requirements. I’m talking about Gary Johnson, a prior two-term governor of New Mexico and our 2012 presidential candidate. Yes, there are others running for the Libertarian nomination and we’ll keep an open mind as to who that will be until the national convention in May in Orlando, but I can’t think of a better person for the job than former Governor Gary Johnson. He is definitely an outsider because they refused to allow him into the debates, and he is unquestionably politically experienced, having been an excellent governor by many standards. Since, according to this poll, Republicans are no longer happy with their party, it should not be too big a step for them to come out of their comfort zone and consider us as an alternative.
