The opportunity is yours. You can help get the the marijuana legalization issue on the ballot in California this year. The activists at CCHI2016—California Cannabis and Hemp Initiative—have been working hard to reach their goal of 600,000 signatures by April 20th. I know there is at least one other marijuana petition being circulated, but this is the one that is the most sensible and has the recommendation of the California LP Executive Committee.
Fellow citizens being imprisoned for years for a substance less harmful than alcohol, politicians admitting they “tried it,” but doing nothing to decriminalize it, medical professionals saying they would like to study it but their hands are tied because of its drug classification, and endless beneficial uses for hemp going unrealized because people are afraid. This has got to stop.
Visit www.CCHI2016.org to donate towards the cost of signature gatherers, volunteer to gather signatures, or find places to sign the initiative. You can also read the full text of the initiative there as well. If you prefer you can contact us here at lpventura.co@gmail or 805-642-5782 and a member of the LPVC will come to your door to get your John Hancock. Let’s make this happen!
