It’s always a good time to become a member of the Libertarian Party. For only $25.00 annual dues you can contribute to and support your local liberty organization. But if you want to attend the upcoming California Libertarian Convention as a delegate you will need to join by March 2nd. Delegates to the convention must have been LP members for at least 90 days to cast a vote. And this year we will be voting for new Officers and Members-At-Large. We will also be fine-tuning our Platform, so if you would like to be on the Platform Committee that is another reason to become a member.
The California LP Convention will be held on Sunday May 31 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas. This will be a one-day convention as opposed to our usual weekend program. However, it is being held in conjunction with a meeting of the Libertarian State Leadership Alliance (LSLA) which is a group, under the auspices of our national party, that provides training and support to state LP officers. That means there will be an abundance of training workshops open to all. In addition, the Libertarian Political Expo (LPEX) is also being held in the same venue at the same time. Although its fee is pricey, they will sponsor an exhibit hall of vendors which will be free.
The floor fee for the LPC convention will be $50.00. At the door price is $75.00. Special convention rates for the Hotel Tropicana can be found on the LPEX website. For more information go to the state site at www.ca.lp.org and click on the “convention” tab.
