During the weekend of November 9th and 10th we have three events happening at the Doubletree Hilton-Westside, 6161 West Centinela Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230.
On Saturday the 9th we will be holding our 4th Quarter Executive Committee Meeting and any member may attend. Included on the agenda is the elections of the National Platform and Credentials Committee representatives for the 2020 National Convention in Austin. If you’ve wanted to get involved in the national party, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. We will also be making endorsements for our 2020 candidates. If you are running for partisan or non-partisan office I hope you will come and seek the Party’s endorsement.
Following the Executive Committee Meeting, we will be hosting a dinner to support our 2020 candidates, with many exciting guests and speakers. The speakers will include Marcos Miralles, former Chair of the Libertarian Party of Florida; Judge Jim Gray, 2012 LP Vice Presidential candidate and author of 2 Paragraphs 4 Liberty; and Scott Myer, Palm Springs City Council candidate. In addition there will be several special guests including Riverside County Supervisor, Jeff Hewitt; and 2020 Presidential candidate, Adam Kokesh! On Sunday the 10th there will be the Southern Area Leadership Summit which will feature training sessions and panels to help our counties grow! This event will be featuring Marcos Miralles who will be explaining how we can make Operation First Step work right here in California. Adam Kokesh who will be speaking on campaigning and getting media attention for our cause, Boomer Shannon on campaign management and much more. And don’t forget the 2020 State Convention is closer than you think! Our convention will be held over President’s Day weekend (February 14-17, 2020) at the Doubletree Hilton–Westside and NOW is the time to buy your tickets before the prices go up at the end of this month. In addition to the business of the party---making our Platform great again and Bylaws amendments that you won’t want to NOT be a part of---we will be electing our delegates for the 2020 National Convention in Austin, Texas. And if that isn’t enough, will have an LP Presidential debate where YOU will decide which candidates get on the stage, as well as amazing speakers that will be announced soon.
And speaking of the 2020 National Convention, we will know the final number of delegates that California will have at the convention in May. This number will be based in part on the number of national sustaining members in California at the end of this month. If our membership stays the same as it is today we will have 109 delegates but, if our membership increases between now and then, that number will increase.
