At the Libertarian Party, we envision a world where liberty, individual rights, and personal responsibility reign supreme—a world where each individual is sovereign over their own life and can pursue their dreams without undue interference from government or any authoritarian power.

Our Core Principles

Personal Liberty: We believe that individuals have the inherent right to make choices for themselves and must accept responsibility for the consequences of their choices. We defend each person’s right to engage in any peaceful and honest activity, free from coercion or aggression.

Economic Freedom: We advocate for a free and competitive market where voluntary trade is protected and the role of government is limited to protecting property rights and adjudicating disputes. We oppose government efforts to redistribute wealth or control trade.

Limited Government: We challenge the cult of the omnipotent state and defend the rights of the individual. We hold that governments must not violate the rights of any individual, including the rights to life, liberty, property, and the freedom to contract.

Peace and Non-Intervention: We support a foreign policy of peace and non-intervention, believing that the United States should avoid entangling alliances and abandon its role as the world’s policeman.

Privacy and Transparency: We advocate for individual privacy and government transparency, opposing all forms of government surveillance and unwarranted intrusion into the lives of citizens.

Our Vision for America
Our vision for America is a society where:

• Individuals are free to make their own choices regarding their bodies, relationships, and personal conduct.
• The free market drives innovation and prosperity, unencumbered by excessive regulation and taxation.
• Government respects and protects individual rights, rather than infringing upon them.
• Peace and diplomacy are prioritized over military intervention and coercion.
• Personal privacy is sacrosanct, and government transparency is the norm.

The Libertarian Party of Ventura County represents a large number of liberty-lovers in Ventura County who believe you own yourself and that the use of force is not acceptable in a free society. 

We are an affiliate of the national Libertarian Party (lp.org), which is the largest alternative political party in the nation, excluding the two legacy establishment parties, both of which, unfortunately, do not support freedom nearly as much as the Libertarian Party does. We are also affiliated with the Libertarian Party of California (ca.lp.org). 

More and more freedom lovers are learning about the Libertarian Party, which has been the most successful alternative party since it was founded in 1971. It is currently the fastest growing party in the country. Do you share our beliefs?
