Here is an update on the Libertarian Party Convention previously scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in Austin Texas. The new plan is to hold an online convention limited to the matter of selecting our presidential/vice presidential nominees and for electing our national party officers. All other convention business will be conducted at a physical convention in July in Florida.
The following is from the LP website:
"On May 9th, 2020, the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) voted to reschedule the convention into a two-part convention. The first session will occur online starting on May 22nd for the purposes of nominating our candidates for President and Vice-President, to comply with ballot access deadlines.
The remaining portions of convention business will begin with check-in and pre-registration beginning the evening of July 7th, committee meetings and break-out sessions on July 8th, and business resuming on the morning of July 9th, and will go through July 12th, in Orlando, Florida, at a venue with enough contiguous space to provide for personal distancing. More information will become available in the near future as final details are finalized prior to signing the contract for the in-person portion of the business.
Thank you for your continued patience through these strange times."
If you had a reservation at the convention hotel it was automatically cancelled. Stay in contact with lp.org for all future information regarding our 2020 Libertarian National Convention.
